ABOUT DRY-MOUNTING AND LAMINATION
Some examples of what we can put in the heat press are: maps, navigational charts, posters, artwork, photos and canvases. Our heat press has the capacity to dry-mount and laminate items up to 40x60 inches. Dry mounting is a permanent mounting process in which art is adhered to a mounting board, using heat and pressure. The mounting board is usually a foamcore board, but other boards can be used depending on the needs of the customer. Lamination is used to make these items durable, water proof and long lasting. Canvas transfers (photos/artwork printed on canvas) are very popular right now; adding a laminate protects the print and ensures that no cracks appear during the wrapping and stretching process. Lamination films are available in matte, luster and canvas finishes; all of these provide UV protection.
